Zvezda 1/72 Soviet T-62 MBT # 5077

The T-62 is a Soviet main battle tank that entered service in 1961.

Designed to replace the T-55, it was the first tank to be equipped with a smoothbore 115mm gun, which provided superior firepower and allowed for the use of fin-stabilized rounds.

The T-62 has a classic Soviet tank design, featuring a low, rounded turret, and thick armor. It is powered by a V-55 12-cylinder diesel engine, offering decent mobility for its time.

The T-62 saw extensive service during the Cold War and was widely exported, participating in numerous conflicts around the world.

Despite being outmoded by more modern tanks, the T-62 remains in use in some countries due to its robustness and ease of maintenance.
