The LRDG F30 Wireless Truck was a specialized communications vehicle used by the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) during World War II in the North African campaign.
Based on the Ford F30 4x4 truck, it was modified to serve as a mobile radio station, equipped with long-range wireless sets (such as the No. 11 or No. 19 radio sets) for coordinating deep reconnaissance and raiding operations.
The truck featured extra fuel tanks, sand channels, and water storage to endure harsh desert conditions.
Lightly armed, usually with a .303 Vickers K or .50-caliber Browning machine gun, it played a vital role in maintaining communication between LRDG patrols and Allied command while operating behind enemy lines.
