Meng Model 1/35 German Pkw.K1 Type 82 Kubelwagen (North Africa) # VS-015
The German Pkw.K1 Type 82 Kübelwagen, often simply called the Kübelwagen, was a lightweight, versatile military vehicle used extensively by German forces during World War II, including in the challenging conditions of the North African campaign.
Based on the design of the Volkswagen Beetle, this vehicle was powered by an air-cooled, 1.1-liter flat-four engine, making it reliable even in extreme desert heat. With a light body and high ground clearance, the Kübelwagen excelled in sandy, uneven terrain.
For North African operations, it was often outfitted with extra equipment, such as jerry cans for fuel and water, and it was sometimes painted in desert camouflage to blend with the landscape.
The Kübelwagen was valued for its durability, easy maintenance, and simplicity, making it a key asset for transport and reconnaissance in the harsh conditions of the African desert.
