It emerged under Adad-nirari II and reached its height under rulers like Tiglath-Pileser III, Sargon II, Sennacherib, and Ashurbanipal.
The empire expanded across Mesopotamia, the Levant, and Egypt, using a highly organized military, brutal warfare tactics, and mass deportations to maintain control.
Assyrian art, architecture, and literature flourished, with grand palaces and the famous Library of Ashurbanipal in Nineveh.
