The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3 was an early variant of the formidable German Fw 190 fighter, introduced in 1942.

Powered by the BMW 801D-2 radial engine, it delivered 1,700 hp, providing excellent speed, climb rate, and maneuverability at low to mid altitudes.

The A-3 featured improved engine cooling and minor structural enhancements over its predecessors.

Its armament included two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns above the engine and four 20mm MG 151/20 cannons in the wings, making it a lethal opponent.

Widely used on the Eastern and Western Fronts, the Fw 190A-3 proved superior to many Allied fighters, prompting urgent countermeasures like improved versions of the Spitfire.
