The Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa, codenamed "Oscar" by the Allies, was a highly maneuverable single-engine fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force during World War II.

Introduced in 1942, this improved version of the Ki-43 featured a more powerful Nakajima Ha-115 engine, strengthened airframe, and self-sealing fuel tanks for better survivability.

Known for its exceptional agility, the Ki-43-II was favored by Japanese pilots for dogfights, though it lacked heavy armament and armor compared to Allied counterparts.

Its lightweight design and versatility made it a dominant force early in the war, but it struggled to compete as newer, more advanced aircraft entered the battlefield.
